I am starting to obsess with working out every night, I am doing the HIIT on the treadmill. Been doing reading on doing HIIT with weights and cardio.
Has anyone tried doing this for an hour, or should it only be 30 minutes

  • WOW! HIIT for an hour. You rock. 20-30 min is good combined with a circuit training. Did you try raising your elevation to make it harder. Also, you can try running backwards on it or even side to side.

HIIT should be too intense for you to do longer than 15-25 minutes. If you can go for longer than that you need to increase the intensity instead of doing it for longer. If you are going longer less intense it is no longer HIIT, it would be just interval training.

If your doing it for 30 minutes then you are doing it wrong, I've been doing it for quite some time and I can hardly do 20 minutes before I faint.

    I used to do a 5 minute warmup on an elliptical, then 1min high, 1 low for 20 mins...then a 5 or 10min cooldown. About 3x a week.

Probably the most productive exercise I've done.

    Short and sweet.
