food allergies

new member-dealing with extra weight- 30 to 40 pounds and food allergies at the same time! What do you eat when you can't eat anything? you'd think after such a diet altering diagnosis, weight would start coming off pretty quickly. Blame it on age or hormones(or lack of) but the scale has moved a mere 7 pounds since late April diagnosis. Any suggestions out there?

I'm severely allergic to peanuts, and have sensitivity to Mango.

EAT: My peanut allergy causes anaphylaxis. Not fun. Epi pen, + 6 hours in a trauma room if I'm exposed.0 -
What you can eat depends on what you're allergic to. If you tell us everything you're allergic to we can give you suggestions on what to eat. The biggest change you'll probably have to make is cooking for yourself rather than relying on processed/prepackaged foods.0

In order of severity: wheat, malt, rye, tomato, peanuts, potatoes, barley, shellfish. oat, lettuce (yes, lettuce), corn, yeast, pecan, and soy.
So far, in pushing the envelope I have found that I can tolerate some things more than others and in the case of tomatoes, the more it is processed, the more likely I'll be able to tolerate it (canned spaghetti sauce, juice, etc.). I do keep an epipen on hand but so far the anaphylaxis has only happened with shellfish and whole wheat crackers. I have been learning to cook all over again! (Much to my husband and son's delight in some cases, not so much in others!) I sure is a trial and error kinda way of life.
Now I've just got to get moving to see if the exercise will jumpstart my metabolism ( I think it abandoned me!)0
