Hello everyone. Can anybody please recommend a heart rate monitor with a continuous heart rate? I do not like the ones that I have to keep putting my finger on it to check. Thanks.

Polar F4 is a great place to start - basic, relatively inexpensive (about $70). Any Polar will work well for you, it's just a matter of how many bells and whistles you want. Garmins are great too but pricey.

That would be called a chest strap.. which you should have gotten in the first place, esp if your looking to track calories burned and not just a continuous heart rate reading... now moving on to the actual question..

Polar is going to be your best bet here.. Either the FT4 or the FT7. Both are easy to use/set up, and come with a chest strap for continuous heart rate monitoring..

I'm looking for a new one as well, the one I have is a Polar F6 but I think that it isn't consistent. I sometimes get a 00 on my HR which makes me think it's not giving me an accurate calorie burn number. I wish I could afford a Body Bugg!

Could be one of three things:
Batteries are starting to go in the transmitter
The strap is not tight enough
The sensors are not wet enough before you put it on.

I'd check out those three options before going to buy a new HRM.

Thanks for answering. I was wondering if the chest strap was the way to go. Walmart has it for $70.00 Seems to be the going price lol. I appreciate your help.

Yes, you definitely want one with a chest strap. Take a look at Amazon, too. You can probably get a better model for the same price as Walmart with free shipping and no sales tax.
