MY NSV FOR TODAY!

It has been a stressful week.
1 - I found out late Sunday night, by e-mail, that my mother was having surgery on Wednesday morning.
2 - Sometime Sunday night after the email, my brother-in-law had a heart attack.
Both are ok at this point, but just the stress of trying to get there and be helpful to my sister has been more of a challenge. And I was till not able to go. i ended up sending my 24 year old daughter.
After the toe fungus situation, I have been fearful of going back to the gym. Not to mention the fact that I don't really have the money for the membership. So I decided to go back to doing what I could at home. That has not worked.
For almost 2 weeks I have set the alarm for 5:20 to get up and try to walk for an hour. Each morning, I have turned off the alarm and went back to sleep. Today was no different.
BUT today I vowed would be different. Since I do not have class until this evening, I got up got dressed and decided I would go to the walking trail for an hour. Not only did I get 3.5 miles in, but I also jogged for 20 minutes of that (off and on). ME, I was running! I am so proud of myself! The funny part of this is that when I was jogging and wanted to stop, I found myself saying, I think can, I think I can...
I guess today I became the "BIG ENGINE" that could.

That is AWESOME! Congratulations on your decision! It's all about choices - at least that is what I keep telling myself.

I can relate I am NOT a morning person and have done the same thing for the last two months in the morning. Fortunately, I have time in the evening to workout. Do what you can when you can and push yourself, it seems as if that is what you did today, great job!!!
Have you tried waking up at 5:50 instead to go on a half hour walk? I think I am going to bump my time and try that as well. Also, put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so it forces you to physically get up. Maybe try putting a note by your alarm clock to yourself as a reminder why you are up so early
If that fails, maybe you are just exhausted from having so many stressful things going on in your life and you really need the rest0 -

That's the thing, I typically am a morning person. But with everything going on, I have just not been motivated. Great suggestions for both of us.0
