Sugar is from the DEVIL

After reviewing my food diary I noticed that I'm taking in way too much sugar. How do you decrease your sugar intake when you just got tohave something sweet to eat? I'm weak to my sugar cravings.

I don't even give my sugar a second thought atm, and i'm feeling better than ever! It's just calories in a fancy box, especially when you have a lot of weight to lose.
When you want to get that cut look, even then I'm not totally sure it's relevant providing you have no medical conditions and stay under your calories...0 -
Cutting down my sugar intake was the best thing I ever did. I don't get cravings for anything and find that I am far less hungry during the day. I find that if I eat a lot of sugary foods, I feel really hungry, far more so than if I eat protein-rich or even fat-rich foods.
You do not HAVE to have some super-sugary tart. You just want it. Learn to make that distinction and change your habits.0 -
I hate it! I go over in my sugar a lot.. But when the sugar is natural from fruits, you can have more of it. It's the refined sugar that's the devil. :P0

What's wrong with sugar again? It raises blood glucose just as all CHO's do. Eat in moderation. Your body doesn't really know the difference between simple sugars and complex sugars. One is just easier to break down than the other.0 -

No..... SODIUM is the DEVIL! I worry more about sodium than sugar. A lot of my sugar comes from fruit and veggies and I just don't think that's as bad as processed sugar, which I TRY to keep in control.0

I have a MASSIVE SWEET TOOTH! I don't worry about my sugar too much, I don't have diabetes or anything like that. When I'm really craving something sweet I go for some dark chocolate....like I did today haha0

Not true. The body doesn't know the difference between sucrose from table sugar and sucrose from an apple. It just processes sucrose as sucrose.
Sugar isn't a bad thing at all, unless you have some sort of metabolic issue or insulin problem, but for healthy people, sugar is a natural energy source that humans have been eating for millions of years.0 -

True, sugar is sugar. Fruit sugar is better in one way though: it tends to come with some nutrition, not just empty calories. Meaning, while the sugar itself is the same, you're better off eating a piece of fruit and getting that nutrition, than just dumping some sugar in your coffee.0 -
I'm very strict with sugar, but I don't seem to metabolize it as well as other people -- everyone is different. My own personal philosophy is to play it safe and keep it under 15g everyday and to treat all sugars the same way. That approach has worked for me, but that doesn't necessarily have to be your approach.0

I'm generalizing, but it's based on my own personal experience -- basically, cutting it out of my diet seemed like a big factor in losing weight.0
