So um during my nighttime "workout" I pulled my hamstring. Any stretches to help? what cardio workouts can I do and not make it worse? thanks in advance

injured while "wrestling"....that's a new one! lol.....

but I feel for ya....hamstring injuries can hurt like hell.

I'm not medical pro...but I've heard if a new injury (like a strain or pull) to do the RICE thing (rest, ice, compression, elevation).

if' its a cramp or just tight, you could try some heat (bath, espom salt bath, heating pad) and some light stretching.

ugh, sorry. I pulled my hamstring at the insertion point to the glute doing a front stretch kick in a martial arts class. It has been 16 mos. and it is not totally healed, although it i significantly better.

The best relief I got initially was alternating ice and heat and using one of the hard foam rollers to sit on and roll back and forth. initially you need to rest it and do minimal stretching -- ease back into it.

Try your workouts carefully and stop if you feel a twinge. I did not have to quit any of my workouts, but I had to modify certain things.

    Good luck.

if you have a pulled (rather than tight) hammy, you need to rest it. if you try to work on it, there's a pretty good chance you'll make it worse. this coming from someone who has been mistakenly impatient with injuries in the past.

    Sounds like a great time!

    Was it worth it?

I ripped my hamstring and you might benefit going to a sports rehab place to do some electro therapy on it. RICE and that greatly improved my healing process. I was back at running within 3 months.

You really have to rest it and ice it 20min on 20min off i dont really recommend stretching too much u could cause more damage
Not a professional just saying from personal experience (Cheerleader in highschool pulled my hamstring alot)
Hamstring injuries take a long time to heel fully and u never really regain full function or for me i lost alot of flexibility from scar tissue building up

have a massage therapist talk to it. Seriously if you get a massage therapist to work it usually they can get them to calm down a lot quicker then if you just let it go.
