No Appetite...

I know I'm not eating anywhere near enough, but I just can't physically eat any more as I am not hungry, even with the amount of exercise I'm doing.
Anybody got any suggestions, other than the one my friends/colleagues keep telling me, which is just 'Eat more cake!'?

Liquid calories help. Look for nutritional shakes (Boost, Ensure, Carnation are a few brands). Soymilk and whole milk are also good. You can mix protein powder in water or milk to boost the nutritional content, too.
Also, high-calorie foods like nuts and dried fruit will be useful. Just munch on some in your down-time and it can really help rack up those calories.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!
  • I go through phases like that. I'm in one right now where I just don't seem to get hungry. I just make sure that I eat well, making everything I do eat balanced. I know I'll go through a hungry phase again where I'll want to eat everything that can't get away from me. If you are looking to significantly increase your cal. intake try eating nuts as snacks or sprinkled in your meals.

Make sure you are taking vitamins. It's your body telling you it is full. If you eat more than your body wants then it will make your stomach stretch out. As long as you are being healthy about what you eat, don't worry about the amount, worry about the quality of what you put in your body.

I get this alot -- so I tend to drink my calories between meals. Learn how to make GOOD protein shakes and you'll have it made.

Avoid all of the pre-packaged junk -- most of them are loaded with junk, not quality protein and cost way more than they are worth.

Get a jug of whey protein isolate (not concentrate) and experiment with it... I personally prefer chocolate and like to mix mine with cold decaf coffee, almond milk and sf hazelnut creamer..easiest way to get about 24oz of fluid and 28g protein in one shot.

I've been having this same problem lately. I'm chalking most of it up to stress. But I'm still worried I'm wrecking my body in the process :/
