Wow!!! Where do you find all that time to drink all of that water????
I am drinking 4-5 bottles of water per day.. I thought i was drinking too much....
Cause I'm ALWAYS at the bathroom...... Thank god I'm a stay at home mother,
Cause I'd be using alot of restrooms...lol!!!
I think if you can drink all that water It's all good.... Water is healthy & It's FREE.

That's about how much I drink during the week. Feels good to flush out the weekends...{{eh-hem}} impurities. :embarassed:

I also do a tsp. of Morton's Lite Salt in a shot of water so I don't flush out too much potassium.
  • As long as you are eating properly, your water intake is fine. There IS a such thing as water intoxication from drinking too much water, but to suffer from that, you'd have to chug large amounts of water at a time. If you're eating properly and frequently, you don't have to worry about electrolyte imbalance. Visit wikipedia to learn about water intoxication: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication At the bottom of the page are links where you can read specific stories of water intoxication related deaths. They are relatively uncommon, but certainly exist!

Your water intake depends on how much you weigh and how active you are. 8 cups is a guideline, but most people could use more than 8 cups daily. I drink anywhere from 8-12 cups regularly.

i have heard to take your body weight, divide it by 2, and that is how much water you should drink in oz per day.

there is a website called fitsugar.com that will tell you how much to drink as well. i think the site is geared toward women but it should work for guys too.
  • I did a search and found this little quiz....don't know how accurate it is though

You should be careful though, especially if there is a family history of Glaucoma, as drinking too much water at one time can cause an increase in the intraocular pressure in your eye. This can be dangerous.

I don't think most people on these boards are at risk... as I'm not sure a high percentage of those are these boards exercise intensely enough or long enough to be at risk.

The only case I ever heard of this from a regular person was when there was a contest to win some video game system... the contest was to see who could drink the most water w/o peeing... well, a woman died. I don't think anyone on here is drinking THAT much water, and I have a pretty good feeling that we all go pee when we feel the urge ;)
