This is my second day on MFP... and the support is FANTASTIC and my second week working out, adjusting my calories etc... and physically I feel great... but I am emotional... feel like crying quite often...not drained, not out of being overwhelmed or anything... I can't explain it... I figure it is my body adjusting...

has anyone else experienced this?

Have you cut out sugar? Caffeine? Alcohol? Withdrawl from those substances can leave you feeling down for a few days. Just keep tracking and using the support on MFP and it will pass with your weight loss :)

sounds like hormones to me..can't believe I am typing this as I would usually have said. reach for the wine, but do a bit of exercise every time you start 'thinking' about the road ahead.. I have the wii and just switch it on and get hula hooping!

And water to wash away the munchies too, lots of water with your meals...

look at the success pictures in the community areas...

    keep smiling!

You are in for much more of that! This is the most emotional thing I have gone through except the loss of a loved one. It really shows you what you are made of. I wouldn't trade it for anything tho, because it really awakened me to who I am, what obstacles were making and keeping me fat, and how to overcome those feelings and learn to push through.

It's probably more of an endocrine system adjustment than a psychological one. I've had it happen too when I dramatically changed my diet and activity level. Sometimes it's a positive effect - feel GREAT - lots of energy, etc. Sometimes it's awful, depression, confusion, etc. I've learned that I personally do best on a balanced diet and not to undercut my calorie goal by too much. I don't do well on the super low carb approach. That was an understatement. I become a serious MESS on super low carb diet, lol. But I can lose weight and stay happy on a balanced diet.

You get to know your body after experimenting a bit, and find out what works for YOU as an individual. That's the most important thing.

It could be a number of reasons ,possibly the cut in calories, carbs, or hormonal amongst a few I can think of off hand. But it only goes to show you are just as human as the rest of us. We all suffer with our ups and downs and it is why we come together here to work through it. Remember you are not alone in this battle. We all here for each other.
