If I Gain This Week I'm Okay With That

If I gain weight this week instead of losing weight I'm okay with it because I understand that I have increased my calorie intake. Prior to increasing my calorie intake I was eating under 1,200 calories which means I was starving my body. While starving my body I was also slowing down my metabolism. I took a big step and up my calories to 1,300, I'm going to slowly up my calorie intake to 1,500. But back to what I was saying lol I'm going to be okay with the weight gain because I wasn't treating my body right. I wasn't feeding it the way it should and since I've told myself that this is not a diet but a lifestyle change then I shouldn't be starving myself, that mean I'll basically be starving myself all my life. I know I may continue to gain for about 2 to 3 weeks before I start losing again or should I say until my metabolism truly begins to rebound. Gaining for 2 to 3 weeks will push me back from reaching my goal of 110 by December but I'm totally okay with that because I know I will keep the weight off longer and my body will be happy.

Sounds like a great plan to increase gradually Hopefully that way if you do gain it will be small. It will give your body time to adjust.
Good luck!0 -

Definitely a great plan! I did that this week, I went from 1200 calories to 1350...and you know what ? I am happier and I have more energy and I feel like I can actually eat...not bad stuff, but more good things, like fruits and veggies and lean meats! So yeah, its been a LOT better for me overall! (weight wise I am not sure yet, but I just got back "on" the wagon this week, so I have been eating like CRAP the past month..so I may lose weight cause I am still cutting back A LOT from what I was eating...):bigsmile:0

Just curious...when you all say that you are eating 1200 or 1300 calories...do you mean total for the day or net? I'm still getting used to seeing my "calories remaining" in terms of net calories, and have not been eating the full amount that this program allows. I just can't imagine eating 1200 calories for the entire day and working out...
Of course, I say this, as the scale indicates that I have apparently gained 7 pounds in the past 7 weeks, despite the fact that I haven't changed my diet or workout routine...hmmm...
But, I must agree - it's a great attitude to understand that it is important to take care of your body! Way to go!0 -
Thank you all for your positive responses0
