New to MFP! Hi (",)

Hi There,

I have just joined mfp as of yesterday. I went on holidays to the beach at the weekend and was so embarrassed about how i looked I had convinced myself and my fiance to walk half way down the beach and swim with seaweed rather than anyone else having to look at me! It's time for some action.
I have never really been comfortable with my weight but the last few years with a new relationship and moving overseas with my partner away from family and friends I turned to food. The bad kind!
Both myself and my fiance have but on weight. I used to wait for him to go on diets or excercise with me but I really want to do this myself.
We are getting married next November in Australia. I haven't tried on any dresses because I'm ashmed of myself, and the thoughts of having family and friends seeing me in a swimmers is literally making me sick.
I have joined a womens gym and am starting to walk for my hour lunch so hopefully with this too i will start to see some results.

Any support would be appreciated :)

    Welcome!!! This is really the place to be for encouragement and sure-fire support. I've tried everything too, and except for the "divorce diet", I haven't been able to do a thing.

    I'm 55 days into a lifestyle change. No potato chips for this girl. Popcorn sometimes, candy bars and milkshakes no way. This time it's about me and I'm ready.
