Does anyone else have this problem?

Now, to start with, I love beer. I brew it as a hobby, and I enjoy seeking out really unique, delicious craft brews and imports. I know beer is high calories, so I like to treat it as a treat, like ice cream or candy, just to stay under my calorie limit. I refuse to get light beer since light beer is incredibly watery.
However, what I've noticed is that when I drink beer, I feel really hungry. I've heard it can stimulate the appetite, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Carbs do that to you. They give you a short term energy spike leaving you wanting for more.
Since you know that you're going to continue to drink beer (and nothing wrong with that), PLAN on eating with it, and make sure that you have some high protein foods available to provide satiety.0 -

OH hell yes!!! Alcohol lowers your blood sugar because your body is using all resources to clean it out of your system. So blood sugar plumets and your body NEEDS food to make up for it. I get soooooo hungry if i drink. i need about 2000 calories on the spot if I have one drink. So needless to say, I don't drink. But I think I'm a bit sensitive to it too. Some people can drink i guess without eating. I think that's why they get so "tipsy" cuz their blood sugar is so low.0

I also love craft beers (and not the blah beers!!) however I don't tend to get hungry when I drink. I usually have calories left over at the end of the day and opt for a good beer instead of eating!0

I had to stop brewing. Why? Because of what you just said.0

Alcohol in general lowers your inhibition towards most things and food is no exception. Why else is the Jack in the Box drive through busiest after last call?0
