Sugar in vegetables

MFP sets my sugar limit at 30g a day. I have always been a vegeholic but my love for vegetables often blows my daily limit. Do we really need to worry about sugar in vegetables or is it only refined sugar that we should be watching? I used to easily eat 500g of vegetables with my dinner alone, but finding I am cutting this back due to the sugar numbers and I miss them!

No, you definitely do NOT need to worry about going over on sugar due to vegetables. The more vegetables you eat, the better. Just make sure you don't go over the calorie limit and you're good. MFP's suggestions for individual categories like sugar, protein, etc. are very generic and therefore not entirely accurate.0

I personally do not worry too much about natural sugars.0

I don't even look at numbers for sugar. I don't think anyone should unless it is for a specific concern, like diabetes. If you are getting sugar from fruits and vegetables then I would say keep eating them, I know I will
I have had no problem losing weight and I eat as many fruits and vegetables as I want - tons!0 -

REALLY, cutting back on veggies? What veggies are you cutting back on in favor of non-veggie items? I don't know, but to Me, this Eating Healthy has to incorporate SOME COMMON SENSE....don't you think?0 -

Yeah, this is my view. Obviously you don't want to be subsisting entirely on grapes and mangoes (nice though that prospect might sound). But really, worrying about sugars in veges seems to defeat the purpose of healthy eating entirely.0 -

I have been eating much more protein anyway with slightly less vegetables. Would still eat well over 5 servings a day so it's not like I am not eating healthy. i am also choosing vegetables with more fibre and less sugar.0
