I DONT KNOW IF IM LOSING MY MIND OR WHAT! PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I WANT TO LOSE 2 LBS A WEEK!
2LBS=7000 CALORIES, IN A WEEK MY CALORIE INTAKE IS 8960. MY GOAL SAYS I NEED TO BURN 2680 A WEEK. NOW THAT DOESNT SEEM LIKE 2 LBS TO ME? SHOULDNT I BURN MORE A WEEK, WHICH I DO BUT ARE THESE SETTINGS WRONG?

you have to remember that you may burn 200 calories a day while working out .. but your body needs a lot of calories to just function. it's called you BMR.
lets say it takes 2000 calories for all your organs to function (this is just a fake number) that means that if you just lie in bed all day your body will burn 2000 calories. so if you workout and burn 200 your body burns 2200 calories a day. and then! (haha  i know there's more), if you eat 1200 calories then you are losing 1000! wow amazing.
haha did that help at all??0 -
no you're not losing your mind... dont worry about how many calories are in a lb of stored fat that's not the point. Lets say your BMR is 2000 calories and you use another 1500 to stay active at work. That's 3500 Calories... lets say then that in order to burn 2 lbs a week you need a 1000 calorie defecit per day to get to that mark. You will need to consume no more than 2500 calories to achieve that. Dont forget that you use calories just being alive and everything you do during the day also uses calories. When you work out you burn more calories and these calories take away from the cals your body needs to do it's everyday work, so really you should be eating those calories as well. If you burned 300 cals per day with the above hypothetical amount, then you would need a total of 2800 cals per day intake.0

hmm.. well in order to lose a pound a week you would have to eat 500 calories less a day! Or exercise so there is 500 calories less in your diet, you are only burning 382 calories a day and since we are supposed to eat our exercise calories you would be eating 1662 calories a day. Depending on your body type you burn a certain amount of calories by just being alive. Probably around 1500 so yea I don't see how you would lose two pounds a week. You would have to eat 1000 calories less a day, which doesn't seem healthy even if you are burning that many. You probably shouldn't be losing that much a week remember 1 pound a week is more healthy. I'd say just try and burn more than 382 a day which you said you did and don't eat all of your exercise calories than you would have more of a chance to lose that much a week. Hope that helped.

USUALLY I BURN UP TO 1400 CALORIES A DAY I WORKOUT 6 DAYS A WEEK0 -
you need to eat more plain and simple. the other thing that I think is confusing you is that MFP calculates in your BMR and your daily activity into your fitness goals and then takes away the 1000 cals or whatever it is for you personally per day to ensure that 2lb per week loss. Basically if you're following exactly what you put into your fitness plan and you're actually burning 1400 calories per day, you need to be eating those 1400 calories as well as what MFP says to eat.0
