for those of you who are lifting weights did you gain weight doing this? stay the same or lose? are you lifting heavy?

  • I gained three pounds when I first started exercising regularly (mostly weight lifting). I'm hoping it's added muscle. >_>

    If you haven't done strength training in a long time or are just starting, you will GAIN weight. This is normal as you body adjusts to retain water for muscle repair and glycogen starts filling the muscle and liver for future anticipated workouts. It usually lasts for about 2 weeks and then weight loss continues if you stay on calorie deficit.
