Hello everyone! I am new to the site and I am looking to have a life changing experience on here. I dont have any friends yet but I would like to have some for encouragement. I hope to lose 35lbs. I became a little confused about how many pounds to lose each week. I chose the 1 lb a week although I wanted to choose 2 lbs a week. I wonder if I choose 2 lbs a week and lose it if it will be harder to keep it off versus losing 1 lb a week. My calorie intake is 1700 a day. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to MFP and good luck on your journey. This is a great site and everyone is very supportive. I think starting out with one pound a week to lose is a good idea. You can always go back and change it if needed. You can start out with the 1700 calories and if you aren't losing maybe you could but it by 100 and see. All in all, I think you are starting pretty good.0

Thanks so much for the response. I originally was 220lbs about 3-4 months ago. Now I am at 206. I am losing, just that I am in a hurry for some reason. How has your experience been on here.0

We're at the same point - I started out at about 220 and I'm 206 now. For myself, I love it. Friendly, supportive, easy to use.
Glad you're here -- feel free to send a friend request if you could use a bud on here!0
