Good or bad for you?

Should I just stick with my oatmeal and fruit?

Everything in moderation! I have bacon and eggs some mornings. I just make sure it's under 300 cals. I do shortcut bacon, eggs scrambled with a little skim milk (I do them in the microwave), usually to a tomato and some sauteed mushrooms. Divine :) Keeps me full for ages too.

    Try this:

    2 egg whites
1 rasher of weight watcher's brand bacon diced
    pepper

plus any chopped veggies you'd like such as capsicum, onions, garlic etc.

Mix it all up in a bowl first then pour into a fry pan. After a while fold it over in half and cook a little longer.

There you go a bacon and egg omelette that is only 69 calories!

It is really filling too. You could have 2 of these for breakfast or have 1 with cereal and your set.

I'm vegetarian, so I eat veggie bacon -- only 25 calories per slice and tons of protein. I've heard of people recommending turkey bacon as a healthier option too. But if you like the real bacon, sometimes its okay to have a couple to get your craving fix.

    IMO not bad.

I'm a low carber, so I eat this every day (with a grilled tomato and a 90% meat sausage from my local butcher).

But even if you follow a low fat diet, it's not too bad (as long as you poach or boil your eggs, rather than fry them). After all, what's wrong with lean cuts of grilled bacon?

I eat eggs, turkey bacon and whole grain waffles occasionally. I like to change up my foods.

I eat a little wrap/sandwich with egg whites, one slice of low sodium bacon and tiny sprinkle of cheese every morning when I get home from work. Mmmm

It really is all about moderation. I say if it fits in your daily cals, go for it.
  • It won't hurt you every once in a while. Eggs are actually good for you -- a couple a week is a good addition to anyone's diet. The bacon, not so much. It's fatty and loaded with nitrites/nitrates/sodium. But it still won't hurt you to have some occasionally. Enjoy your breakfast!
