My name is Jacklyn, I'm 24 years old, and I decided to start my weight loss journey once and for all. In December 2010 when I had to have a surgery, I was 357 pounds. Today I am happy to say that I am 298 pounds and its the first time in years I haven't seen a 3 in front of that number. I count my scale victories (weight loss) and non scale victories (inches lost, fitting into new clothes, getting my high blood pressure medicine cut in half) and I am dilligently trying to stay on track. Right now I am going through the prep process for a gastric bypass surgery, but at the rate I'm losing this weight, I'm even questioning if I would need it! Anyways, I'm here for support and to support others on their journeys as well :)

Peace, Love, & Get Healthy!

Grats on your accomplishments so far! Sounds like you are doing a great job. I would suggest not getting the surgery. A healthy diet, a bit of exercise, and tracking your calories is all that is needed. We are all here to lend support and give advice on your journey.

totally agree HeadUp...surgery is not always the answer to weight gain. it took time to gain it, it will take time to lose it! have patience and if you tell yourself every morning "this is a new day, i KNOW im strong enough to do this, i have people out there to help support and encourage me....it CAN and WILL happen!!!!"
many of us find that we are much stronger than we think we are, we just need to put our thoughts into the right places!

"Face your "stuff", dont stuff your face"....quote i see on here and i think it does magic on most of us....

keep up the great work....we're here for you!
