Hello my lovely ladies out here in MFP ![ ](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced an ugly belly button piercing SCAR?
So I'm a mother of 2 boys and well after my first pregnancy my belly button ring tore out, even with having a longer bar. Now I have the most ugliest scar in America
I've tried coco butter and all and it's still ugly as hell! Maybe getting it re-pierced will bring some beauty to it,but with these fat rolls that ain't working out for a sista! Any remedies if anyone has had this before?

With my daughter (9 years ago) I took out my barbell, and didn't scar at all. This time I got a flexi maternity barbell, which is SUPPOSE to keep you from scaring lol and now it looks like I have a little V above my belly button. Needless to say, I put my origional one back in and it detracts from it. I have been using Palmers cocoa butter and I'm not sure if its helping or if it is fading on its own. Anyway, I think having the barbell in there definately takes the attention away from the V. lol0

Doesn't help you now...but when you get pregnant you're supposed to take those out, let them heal up before you start to show, then the scarring is minimal to non existant, leaving them in leaves pretty bad scars and as far as I know, there's no way to get rid of them, they're big and nasty and deep. I know of several people who left them in, not believing the advice and had them just pop out in time and not a one of them has had any luck minimising the scarring, and they've tried virtually everything. The only thing I can suggest is to re-pierce when you reach a good weight, a new bar should hide most of the scarring... but that's about all you can do.0

Well I've seen people who kept it in while they were pregnant and it never scared..I was told by a piercing professional you can leave it in just as long as you get a bigger bar, which I did..Didn't help though!0 -
Have you tried using a microfibre flannel? They helped reduce my scarring, also Bio Oil is really good for reducing the appearance of scars but you have to follow through everyday or it's pointless!
Hope this helps!0 -
I hear what you're saying. I had my eyebrow pierced, my skin rejected it so I'm left with a scar on my face. But you know what, I've grown to love it. It's part of me and will always be. Maybe try thinking of it in that way?!!
Yes, try Bio oil.0 -
I have had good success on 2 different scars with a product called "bio oil" it was reccommended by the doc office that did one of the surgeries. bought it at Walmart. I was skeptical at first, but now I swear by it! The small bottle lasts a long time.0
