Running Question...even one answer would help.

I live in a mountainous area and I have recently been running on a track where about half of the time I am running uphill. Today I ran about 2 miles at an average of 10 minutes per mile. Do I burn that many more calories running up hills? If so, how much of a difference does it make? I plan on buying a heart monitor, but until then, I wanted to have an idea of how many extra calories I actually burn. (Approximately)
Thanks
Thanks

I am almost 5'2 (like 5'1 and 3/4, but I round up) and about 115 pounds. That would be great if you could check!0

Thanks for the site cmriverside. Also, I'm really happy to know that I do burn more calories because it is really a challenge! Some of the hills are huge!0

You sure do, depending on the incline that your running/jogging/walking. Since your expending more energy moving uphill, muscles, etc.0 -
Well, I'm happy to know this. I know its kind of logical, but just making sure.0
