My mom is friends with the husband-wife owners of a local butcher's shop. They'd seen me a few times before I lost weight. A few weeks ago, they told my mom about how they saw a frequent customer (a young female) who lost 30 pounds, and she looked so different. My mom, knowing that I had lost a lot more than that, wanted to tell them about me, but she kept her quiet because she thought it'd be best for them to see me with their own eyes.

Well, yesterday I went to the shop to buy some meat. It was late evening, so the particular cut I wanted was sold out. Just when I was about to walk out, the wife was like, "wait a minute... Aren't you [my mom's] daughter? Wow, you lost so much weight!"

Today I went back for the meat. The husband (who wasn't present yesterday) 'recognized' me and offered me a can of Sprite. The wife jokingly scolded him and told him I was on a diet. The husband was shocked. "What!!! A diet!? Why? You've always been so small!"

:laugh: Turns out he thought I was my skinny cousin, who sometimes came in with me and my mom.
