Ladies...I need to pick your brain on something. A profile (not on MFP) had this to say (paraphrased for context but spelled exactly as shown): "I'm really good at...Telling you what I think, usually without a sensor."

What exactly am I not grasping?

When I inquired if perhaps the poster really meant to use the word "censor", the response I received was...rude...

  • Ummm... most people do not like to be corrected on their grammar............has nothing to do with the phrase, I'm sure.

I can tell you, I was not born with a sensor for other peoples feelings. I had to develop one of my own, like everyone else

yeah. People are not usually happy to be corrected about their mistakes, they should be though! That is how we learn!

Nope, you're right; she's just embarrassed she doesn't understand homophones.

Sounds like she wants to be able to dish it out, but not take it...

People who can't spell get no respect from me. Mind you, I'm an English major, so I'm a bit of a spelling/grammar nazi. If that were on a dating site or something, I'd move onto the next profile for that alone. LOL! Luckily, my hubby is as much of a grammar nut as I am! :D
