So I just did the first day of C25K and I have no idea how to log it for exercise. I tried to log my jogging and walking as seperate activities but I guess I don't jog fast enough. LOL The slowest jogging speed on there is like 5.5mph or something. I am pretty sure I wasn't going much over 4mph, I have no way to know for sure of course since I was outside, but I wasn't going a ton faster then when I walk at 3mph. It was just jogging and not walking if that makes any sense at all.

Any ideas?

Congrats on starting C25K! I'm in week 6 and loving it!

I logged mine as jogging 5mph and walking 2mph... I know I don't jog 5mph, but it seems to work alright that way. (Especially since at a brisk walk, I think I'm closer to 3mph.)

If you're worried that is calculating too high a burn, create a new exercise (which I did anyway, with the jogging and walking together) and put your calorie in at slightly less than the jogging + walking. Calculating our calories in/calories out on a daily basis not an exact science anyway, so IMO it's not awful to be off by a bit.

If you have a need to be more precise, you should probably get a good HRM.

I use a Garmin watch to tell me exactly how fast and how far I've gone. But if you don't want to drop $200, there's a few good online pedometers you can use to tell you exactly how far you've gone. Keep track of exactly how long it took you to go that distance, and now you know how fast you were going (as an average). Here's one pedometer for you:

    Happy jogging!

I use the Endomondo app and it approximates my calories burned. There are a few maps/websites you can use to track your run, just know how many minutes you walkked/jogged and map it out, it should give you your approx. calories burned. And welcome to c25k!!! I just completed Week 6 and begin Week 7 tomorrow!!!
