Looking for a laxative effect?

Hey all,
Just wanted to share something that may be helpful to you guys.
If you're looking for a laxative effect but don't want to take a synthetic laxative, try coconut butter.
I discovered this by accident over the course of a few days. I had extra calories to eat and it was late at night so I just had a spoon or two of my Nutiva Coconut Manna and some water (because it's quite dry and sticks to the roof of your mouth.) After each time I did that I woke up the next morning and felt like I had taken a laxative, if you know what I mean.
This may be helpful to any of you who increased your fiber too quickly and may be backed up. It happened to me but now I'm okay.
Also, even though I used Nutiva I would think any coconut butter would work. Recently I discovered you can make it in your blender or food processor with just unsweetened coconut flakes.
Have any of you done this before? Does this remedy already exist?

GTI_Girl, yes coconut is very high in fiber!
iceey, coconut oil is just oil whereas butter is coconut meat blended up.
pammye65, I found it at my Vitamin Shoppe but I think you could also find it in an organic foods store or Whole Foods. I've read that a brand called Artisana is really popular.0 -
I take the Traditional Medicinal Herbal tea called Smooth move (lol) it has senna in the ingredients and it always works awesome!0

Unsweetened coconut provides 7.2 g of fiber per cup, which is more than the average fruit and vegetable serving provides.

This tea simply gives you the same plant-based chemical as in Senacot and it's generic equivalents.0 -
