Sometimes French Toast, usually just egg sandwiches or an omeulette. My mother would eat cereal for dinner every night if she could get away with it (can't because she has to cook dinner for my father 5 nights a week so eats with him).

I love breakfast for dinner! For some reason it tasted better. Usually Eggs, bacon and bisquits, or toast. Occasionally breakfast wrap, or omlette.

Funny that this was brought up because that's what I am doing for dinner.

    I will probably have....
    1 egg
    3 Bob Evans Sausage links
and possible 1Whole wheat toast (although as I type this I remember we are out of bread lol)

If I had it my way, I'd eat Breakfast for all meals

A simple breakfast burritto, corn tortilla, no meat, extra cilantro... yum!

You may want to consider the Kashi Blueberry cereal as well...add some other fruit(s) like banana, or more blueberries.... yum!

Hmmm, is there a healthy way of preparing hash-browns, or potatoes, for Breakfast?

I love omelets with onion, pepper, spinach anything really and whole grain pancakes. Yum!:flowerforyou:

Healthier Hash browns - shred your own potatoes with skin and spritz with olive oil, sprikle with pepper, a lil salt, and onion and garlic powders then bake at 400 until they are as brown as you want them. Stiring about every 10-15 min.

Scrambled egg whites, canadian bacon, and english muffins make it into my rotation a couple times a month. Super easy, and healthy if you buy lean canadian bacon and thomas multigrain english muffins.

    Hmmmm breakfast for dinner. Yum.

At the high school I work at, on the menu some days they will write "Breakfast for Lunch". The kids go NUTS.

You guys are making me hungry!!
  • Mmmm, breakfast is good any time of day (or night!) It is one of my kids' favorite things when I break out the eggs at dinner time. There is a little diner down the street that has the most amazing Greek omlette. It is loaded with feta and gyro meat and served with homefries and pita bread. I have almost been able to ignore it's siren call, but this breakfast thread has brought it front and center in my mind! Maybe I will make it my cheat meal for the week...it probably has an entire day's worth of calories and then some. Sorry for going off on a tangent!:blushing:

I love having breakfast for dinner!!!

Scarmbled eggs with cheese, crispy bacon, sausage patties, crispy livermush (a Southern treat), grits, biscuits and gravy.... Enough to make my mouth water!!!

(We usually only have the eggs, bacon and toast  )

LOL..my husband thinks it is kind-of weird to do breakfast for dinner, too, but I have always loved it. I think I originally got into it in my college days! Of course, I remember my mom cooking fruit dumplings sometimes for dinner too! Usually now, though, it is eggs and some kind of meat or an egg sandwich...

I love breakfast for dinner; especially when I'm running out of calories at the end of the day. A scrambled egg and a piece of toast is perfect. If I have a few more calories available, I'll add in some bacon.

"Can I have an order of bacon with a side of bacon?" I loves me some BACON!

Haha, I really shouldn't have read the description of what goes into livermush.
It's one of those foods that unless you were raised on it, you probably won't like it.
And little did I know there was a FESTIVAL not far from where I live! YAY!
I worked at Sonny's Grill, although that is unrelated to my love of livermush.

Here is what it looks like cooked.

When my kids were small, we did this every Friday night. We weren't eating light then, but it was a fun tradition and way to kick off the weekend, plus it was easy and fairly inexpensive to have pancakes or french toast after a long week. Everybody enjoyed it.

This has to be a regional thing. I've never heard of it.

We ate fried cream of wheat with pancake syrup on it for dinner when I was a kid. I haven't thought of that in years.

That livermush looks like scrapple - is it the same thing??

When we have dinner for breakfast it's usually home-made "McMuffin" type things (lean ham steak, hard cooked eggs and a slice of lowfat swiss or provolone on a light english muffin)
  • I am ADDICTED lately to instant maple and brown sugar oatmeal with a tablespoon of PB mixed in and calorie-free maple syrup! YUMMMM!!!
