HOTEL ROOM WORKOUT?

Hoping someone here can help me. I have to go away for work most of the week, staying in a hotel with no gym or pool, and likely to get back to the hotel every night after dark (so not wanting to go out for a walk/run in a strange area).

So, without any equipment to speak of, what can I do? My food will be hard to stick to, so I want to make up for it by keeping my exercise routine going.

Thanks
Jodye

You can do variations of dips, lunges, pushups, stepups, squats, leg/calf raises in your room.

Invest in some exercise videos, bring a DVD player (just in case they don't have them), and request a ground floor room.

LOL - VERY good point on the ground floor room! Do you recommend any particular DVDs?

    Thanks everyone for the ideas

Take Jillian Michaels with you! Lol!! Banish fat Boost metabolism doesn't need any weights or anything, just you and Jillian and her mates.

Aha! We were taught a workout to do on Initial Officer Training for when we had little space but needed to keep fit! Sprinters, Burpees, pressups, squats situps. 20 sprinters, 15 burpees, 10 squats, 5 pressups, 10 situps, repeat! As fast as you can! :) I think it would count as circuit training! Fairly intense and the getting up and down is good for getting your HR up too!

When I have to stay in a hotel without a gym i run outside or take my Jillian Michaels DVD, a few stretchy bands and my portable DVD player.

this works! If they are clean and safe, set a goal for 50 or more flights and go for it. You will be a sweaty mess and plenty sore too. Good luck!

I am heading to Costa Rica and this is my plan. I have 10 minute trainer which I will use my computer to play. I will bring some resistance bands. I will also be walking a lot during the day hiking through mountains and rainforest. Walking after dark in most places isn't really a good idea and not a long walk anyways. I am hoping my 8 days away doesn't hurt me to bad. I will have a few days in a hotel with a pool and looking forward to the swim. Spring my goal is to spend 3 days bike riding through the jungle and rainforest. I know I am not in good enough shape to bike 120 miles in 3 days right now.

The Chuck Norris Total Workout Home Gym folds up really small. You could put it in your pocket.

The hotel is fine, just no gym or pool - pretty standard in the mid range inner city hotels.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas, I feel much better now, and will go to the supermarket tomorrow and look at DVDs (we can't get netflix in the UK apparently!)

    Thanks!

Sounds like a great plan. Especially the hiking - how amazing to get to exercise in a rainforest.

    Have a fab time!

There's always a bell hop...lol I'm just thinking it would be a more invigorating workout than spending 30 minutes with Jillian on a laptop. Anyway, enjoy your "vacation".
