Any women ever gain weight quickly with no explanation?

Two weeks ago I got on the scale and was up 10 lbs in just one week! I am at a loss as to what it could be. I generally eat well and exercise everyday... sometimes I will take a day off, but it is not common. I got on the scale this morning and have not lost any of it. But my scale does the fat % and I was shocked to see that I am 56% fat. Even at my heaviest I was only 46% fat.
I think I am retaining water, my rings are tight.
Have any of you ever experienced this? I am frustrated and have increased my water, increased my cardio... I even worked out twice a day last week to no avail!
Any input is appreciated.

I just read this topic I can't explain the increase on fat but this might help a bit?0 -

You need new batteries0

I get this too, I can't explain it either.0

Me thinks your scale might be malfunctioning.0

happened to me two weeks ago. 4lbs in 4 days for no apparent reason. It's really frustrating.0

My rings tend to get tight when I've eaten too much salt, as I'll retain LOTS of water! If you lower your salt intake but continue to bloat, try doing 1 day of Diurex. But first, reset your scale, it sounds cranky. Good luck (:0

I agree - check the batteries or invest in a new scale.0 -
If your rings are tight I think your suspicion of water retention is probably at least partially to blame. I went up 8# in one day. Turns out I was not drinking enough water and with working out had gotten myself into a dehydrated state. This can cause your body to reserve the fluid you are drinking. Increasing water and following the suggestions I found online of increasing B6 worked like a charm for me. Back down and rings loose in 2 days.

Don't want to scare you but here are some illnesses that can be related to weight gain. Maybe you have some of those symptoms.

This happened to me when I developed hypothyroidism0

Thank you everyone for your input. Unfortunately it is not my scale as I have an older on and when I get on it the weight is exactly the same. I have an appointment with my doc today so hopefully something will come of it. I drank what felt like copious amounts of water yesterday and am down 2 lbs, so that is going in the right direction.
Thank you for the posts and websites to check, it really helped.0 -
Pms adds 7-10# on me like clockwork, depending how much water I consume. It's towards the lower end if I drink 10-15 glasses/day during that time0
