i know that for myself, i need at least a 400-600 calorie breakfast to ward of hunger. its about a quarter of my daily allotted calories. i have a combination of protein and carbs. sometimes i have an egg omlet with either peppers or chopped tomatoes, and a whole wheat wrap.
try throwing in two tablespoons of peanut butter in your oatmeal, and some sliced up apples. i had this morning. yum.
also, if i eat my breakfast at about 5am, i'll be hungry at about 9:30am myself. so i have a cup of coffee and a granola bar or two.0 -
I make breakfast sandwiches with the liquid eggs. Spray a bowl with Pam or the like and add 1/4 cup of liquid eggs. Place in the microwave for 1 minute. I then place it on a bagel thin with a slice of NF cheese and a couple slices of some sort of ham or you could put a Morningstar sausage or something on there if you like. This is my "go to" quick breakfast in the morning along with a cup of Hood Chocolate milk. :flowerforyou:0

I went back to eating Grape-nuts and almond milk and it filled me up for a while.0

Are you sure that you're actually hungry? I have oatmeal for breakfast every day and don't get hungry until about midday!
Make sure you're eating enough of it, and eat it s...l...o...w...l...y.
Take carrot sticks to work with you. They are the best snack ever!0 -
Take some fruit to work for a snack0
-
drink 2 cups of water and see if you're still hungry. if so, go for an apple or something healthy0
-
Eggs and Bacon for breakfast. It will keep you feeling full longer! I'm doing low carb and I am no hungry clear up till right before lunch!0

Check your oatmeal and yogurt to see how much sugar they contain (some brands have lots of High Fructose Corn Syrup). If they have a lot of sugar it can spike your blood sugar triggering a big release of insulin. High insulin levels store the sugar very quickly so your blood sugar plummets. This creates the sensation of hunger. Switching brands may help if this is the case. I like Good Food Made SImple frozen steel cut oatmeal.0

Try high-fiber oatmeal. It may keep you fuller longer.... So you just eat B-fast, lunch and dinner or do you have a mid-morning/mid-afternoon snack?0
-
If you're starving.. then eat! I eat breakfast usually around 6am and by 9:30 I'm hungry too.. so I bring healthy snacks. Try eating a banana, apple, cheese stick, granola bar, almonds/nuts, etc.0

30 grams protein 30 minutes after you wake up (I do a protein shake). Then, a couple of hours later- breakfast, have more protein and a fiber rich item. This will definitely satisfy Good luck!0
-
Ditto on not enough calories. I eat at least 300 high protein calories for breakfast, which is right before my run, and sometimes I eat a 100 calorie snack before lunch!0
-
The key to making your breakfast hold your appetite until lunch is to combine some protein along with some complex carbohydrates. That way your energy stays throughout the morning. Try egg whites on toast, whole-grain cereal with low-fat milk, even half a turkey sandwich . You can also bring a mid morning snack like fruit or nuts.0

Make sure you are getting protein and fiber! I agree with the above poster who said 30g protein. I feel way less hungry if I drink a protein shake for breakfast!0

bring a snack to work with you. Its okay to a eat mid morning snack. In fact, it might just be what your metabolism needs
If you bring a snack, you'll be less tempted to get junk food from a nearby gas station0 -
What seems to be working for me is eating a small portion of oatmeal before I leave the house...drinking a protein shake on the way to work and then mid morning (around 10ish) having a mid morning snack (hard boiled eggs and an apple). This helps so much to ward off hunger. Not to say that I don't get the hungry feeling, but knowing that a snack is right around the corner helps a lot, and I can stave it off with water. Hope this helps!0

What time do you wake up? I've found that eating within 30min of waking up helps keep me fuller longer. Even if it's just a piece of fruit.0

I used to have this problem and what I started doing is an hour after breakfast (or whenever you feel hungry) having a cup of (green) tea. I still have that "hungry" sensation but I've realized that it's not actual hunger.
Also, I don't know if you're drinking 8 glasses of water a day, but sometimes when your body is dehydrated it will resemble the sensation of hunger. Try drinking lots of water and tea and see if it makes a difference.0 -
I eat breakfast at 7:00 am so to me 9:30 is the perfect time for a snack.0

I usually have light stretched breakfast like a couple bites of beans and a banana... then a few hours later some grapes... I pretty much just snack all day... lunch and supper are light meals of 200-300 calories. I drink loads of water while eating. I rarely get hungry but when I do I eat a fruit or veggie snack. experiment.. see what works for your body0
