Can someone explain how a co-op works?

    Our Food Coop works like this............

    Every 2 weeks we pay $23.50 for a Produce basket and the group leaders go out and shop for local food from local farmers.
    We get about $50-60.00 worth of produce (fruits and veggies) to last a family of 4 about 2 weeks.

    CSA membership...........

    I also belong to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) where you pay a certain amount for your "share" and then every week a share of whatever was harvested is delivered to my door.
