I admit it, I hate to exercise but I do want to do something to speed up my weightloss.

Then find an activity that you enjoy. Some like dancing and the latest craze is Zumba. Some like tennis. Some like walking. Even just adding a little activity to start is a good goal.0

It's possible that you just haven't found a type of exercise that you enjoy. You should continue searching.
Have you tried lifting weights? (Heavy ones, not the pink ones).0 -
I've always been the same but now have got into a routine of using the Wii every day, it's really helped me.
A long walk is better than nothing at all0 -
I had a hard time getting into exercise mode as I hadn't set foot in a gym since high school! However, you need to find something that you will enjoy in order to be active. For me, I chose Just Dance on the Wii. It got me to move around and it was fun, so I wanted to do it. Once I got more into exercise mode, I was able to progress to other forms of exercise that were more difficult or maybe not so fun...0

You need to find little things to get you going at first. I ABSOLUTELY LOATHED working out when I started but I found, the more I did and the better I got, the more I WANTED to do. I started by buying a bike, which turned into jogging, which turned into P90X, which turned into Insanity and beyond. It's amazing how a few pounds shed can make you WANT to get active.0

I like doing the 10 mins workouts On Demand. They have the for targeted areas and when I'm being good I'll do one in the morning and another in the evening. Short an quick, you are over and done.0

I hadn't exercised in a long time and don't care for team sports. The exercise I found that I liked is Jazzercise. I like the dancing, but what really kept me coming back were the friendly people, all ladies at our location. The music makes the exercise fun and they change up the routines every 10 weeks so I don't get bored.
If there is no Jazzercise near you, there may be Zumba or Curves or you can try a DVD at home.
Maybe your not so lazy as lonesome. :flowerforyou:0 -
I have tried to like so many things without success but I've recently discovered Kettlebells which I'm taking a real shine to.
Weights and cardio all in one and you don't have to spend a lot of time with it either.
You can get an excellent workout in about 10 - 20 minutes.
I like hiking and walking as well.
It's essential to find something you enjoy doing otherwise it seems counter-productive to me.
Next summer, I'll be trying kayaking and I bought a bellydancing dvd to work out to. Haven't done it yet but it looks like a lot of fun.
Good Luck with finding something you enjoy doing!
also, if you're not shy ... if you're going out walking, bring a skipping rope and do skipping intervals. This would probably work better in a park. I plan on bringing mine next time along with an exercise band. The park where I enjoy walking has a railing that I can use to do some band workouts.
I like this guy's stuff on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00c1uM2r08k&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL23ABDFF9931F5388
My point is don't make it like you're "working" but instead focus on finding something that you find FUN! :happy:0 -

You know, you are wrong to a point here. Since May I've lost about 50 pounds and I've done no extra working out than I've ever done. I've simply started watching more of what I eat. Maybe this op is like I am and doesn't have time to test out all the different types of exercise before finding one she like. Just give them a break, support them and don't be such a hardass.0 -
Okay I take it back i am sorry. i had a bad day yesterday and took it out on you i guess. try things that you like and what likes you back. walk in moderation if you can stand it and eat a healthier, cleaner diet. The weight will come off eventually. Persistance pays off.0
