do you have to consume the number of calories calculated for you? i only ask as i've planned all three meals, plus two snacks and all the drinks i've had today and am still left with 500 calories because i have exercised today. if i don't eat them will i lose more weight or does my body need feeding?

It depends on how much you're giving yourself. You probably need about 1200 calories, I wouldn't eat any less, at least not on most days. But if you're allowed 1700 and you had 1600, I wouldn't worry about i.

You want to look at your NET calories. If you eat 1600 and burn 500 in exercise, that's a net of 1100, which is probably a little too low (my doctor says 1200 is minimum). If you eat 1700 and burn 500, though, that's a net of 1200, which is fine. If you go to your home page, it shows your net calories after exercise is factored in. As long as that is at least 1200, you're fine. If you are slightly under once in a while, that's okay, but don't make a habit of being far under.

As an example, I'm not getting my full 1200 right now because I can't keep anything down but liquids (doctor thinks I have gallstones). I feel like crap and my brain is fuzzy. My thought processes are slower than normal and I have zero energy. I'm eagerly anticipating them getting me feeling better so I can eat again. I'm dropping weight, but I feel horrible. This is definitely NOT the way to lose weight. I can't even exercise because I have no energy even to walk.
