For christmas, my parents got me four sessions with a trainer. I have only been with her twice, but I feel stronger. In the past, I've hated lifting weights but now seeing and feeling the results, I AM HOOKED!

Sweet
Stick with it! Those initial quick gains are your previously dormant motor neurons which you shocked into action and then learned how to work more efficiently. This is probably not a result of strength gains or hypertrophy but if you keep lifting in a well designed program you will get stronger and everything in life will get easier.
