I have been on WW online but I'm tired of paying for it and just heard of myfitnesspal. This will be my first week on here so wish me luck. Any tips will be helpful. :)

If you can, get the smartphone app for My FItness Pal (MFP) - makes tracking calories so much easier! Welcome!

I did slimming world a few years ago and lost 8lbs over 10 weeks...with MFP I have lost 19lbs over 14 weeks and it is so much easier.

No expensive diet to follow, no food is off limits, you get to understand where you went wrong and tailor your life to suit you.

I am sure like everyone on MFP you will do really well.

TIPS...keep your diary everyday, and I mean everyday, log everything

Exercise...I walk about 5 miles a day split into 3 or 4 walks and have gone from UK size 18 pants to 12 in 14 weeks...so if you exercise more then you may do better

    Good luck x

    Hey there!

Here are some of my top tips!!

    1) make friends who have achieved things you want to achieve - use their advice!
    2) make friends who are ACTIVE and inspire you to get out there and give activity and life a go
    3) USE YOUR FRIENDS for advice and inspiration - talk to them, get involved with them and get to know them - you might be surprised just how many secrets they can unlock for you!
    4) be prepared to find that there are a lot of people on here who dont have very much knowledge and motivation, which can be draining if you are not prepared for it.
    5) dont make so many friends you are overwhelmed by them - just make enough quality friends that you can stay in touch with and work with
    6) be RELIGIOUS with food tracking here. So far I very rarely have found foods that aren't listed and the secret to my success has been my stubbornness
    7) set goals - how many days in a row can you go where you are eating the right amount, or just under, your calories?
    8) dont overestimate how much weight you will lose - slowly but surely is safer.

    That's a start I guess!!
    Welcome!

Planning ahead and entering my food in the diary before I eat it helps me stay on track, especially if I have a little splurge and need to tweak calories from something else. Good Luck - I love this site!

Good luck I have been doing the site for awhile. I agree you need to plan ahead just in case you eat something you didn't plan on. I also input my dinner first then I can add or subtract from the rest of my day.
