I'm trying to be good and eat a healthy snack, but it's completely out of my experience, so: How many calories are in your basic apple, and how can I tell what size is "medium" versus "large"?

Thank you! <3

just search for it under "apple, raw". Choose the one that is NOT member submitted and you'll get all the sizes along with dimensions.

    Found this online :)

The nutrition count is for an apple with skin:
    1 large apple (223 g) – 116 calories (Carb – 30.8; Fat – 0.38; Protein – 0.58)
    1 medium apple (182g) – 95calories (Carb – 25.13; Fat – 0.31; Protein – 0.47)
    1 small apple (149g) – 77calories (Carb – 20.58; Fat – 0.25; Protein – 0.39)
    1 extra small apple (101g) – 53calories (Carb – 13.95; Fat – 0.17; Protein – -.26)
    And measure per 100g – 52calories (Carb – 13.81; Fat – 0.17; Protein – 0.26)

On the contrary, the nutrition amount decreases a little bit for an apple that is eaten without its skin.

    1 large apple (216 g) – 104 calories (Carb – 27.56; Fat – 0.28; Protein – 0.58)
    1 medium apple (161g) – 77calories (Carb – 20.54; Fat – 0.21; Protein – 0.43)
    1 small apple (132g) – 63calories (Carb – 16.84; Fat – 0.17; Protein – 0.36)
    And measure per 100g – 48calories (Carb – 12.76; Fat – 0.13; Protein – 0.27)

most apples are between 80-100 calories. small/ medium are about the size of a tennis ball and med/large are closer to a softball. Apples are my favorite diet snack, so much healthier than all those 'snack packs'.

Generally 80 calories is your standard medium apple. Mediums are about the size of your fist. Most of your standard apples are mediums. You can always google search the different apples for calorie count too.
  • Just going by gram... Per 100 gr... i.e. if you weigh your apple 187 gr, you should put 1.87...
