Texture issues

Anyone have food texture issues? I like mashed potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. After a while, the texture of it gets too much and I have to stop because I start getting queasy from hating the feel of it in my mouth. If there's something in there to break it up (granola or whole fruit in the yogurt, for exampe), then I am fine. Oddly enough, it's also never an issue with ice cream. Darn it.

I had a year and a half with severe jaw issues where I couldn't chew normally, so I had a lot of mashed potatoes, soups, jello, etc. I shudder at the thought of eating that way again.

I do... coconut is a huge texture thing for me. EWWWWW! That and on top of it I also hate the taste as well. I can handle the texture of most foods... but I don't care for slimy squishy things like mushrooms (unless they're sauteed in butter).

cannot eat jello, or anything similarly textured!! I instantly think of something moving in my mouth, like a bug or something. . . .. *shivers*

Oooomigosh...coconut is *soooo* nas-nas! i have thrown up every coconut anything my family has tricked me into eating since i was 3 and threw up all over the easter bunny cake! and so far as i know, it's not an allergy - purely texture. if i eat it, i freeze up and my gag reflexes start up - *so* nasty!

can't do tomatos, pulpy orange juice, and jello with fruit it in is an abomination!

I don't eat custards, puddings, jello, rice pudding. Be a solid or be a liquid. I don't like anything in between.

Except, Uni. And...well....never mind...don't want to shut this down.

Right there with the coconut haters.

Also eggplant. Kinda tastes rubbery, like I imagine a raw liver might taste - or like *gag* sashimi, you know the big bites of raw fish? I'm making myself sick just thinking about it. Although I love sushi rolls, as long as the chunks of raw fish aren't too big.

Tip for the coconut haters: When it comes time to get a sweet for a company party or you have to bake something, I highly recommend anything with coconut in it. 7-layer bars, coconut cakes, coconut cream pies - you won't take a bite of ANYTHING, not the batter, not the finished product, NOTHING. blech! perfect solution. luckily my husband loves german chocolate cake so that's what he gets every year for his birthday. not even slightly tempted.

i'm impressed that you can actually make anything with coconut! i would not make it - i would have to have my husband clean up the mess! really, i have to be careful around easter when they put out end stacks of bags of shredded coconut - i get naseous if i get too close. there is no way i could stir it up with a spoon!

Mayo does this to me...yuck! I also don't like the texture of raw shrimp, tapioca pudding, and cottage cheese.

I admit it's a challenge. I have to hold my nose. Have been known to cover my nose and mouth with a kerchief.

    Seriously! Cotton balls! UGH...*shudders*
I hate going to the dentist and he sticks that wad of cotton in there. If it scrapes across my teeth, I'm done. I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it.
I'm fine getting my nails done as long as the cotton ball doesn't snag on a nail. Then I'm completely creeped out.
    BLEGH.
    Somebody hold me.

    Ewwwww!! Coconut!! *gags*
It smells good and sometimes I think I want to try it again... but I can't do it!!
I have a texture issue with a lot of fruit/veggie skin. Tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, apples.... everything must be peeled!

Dressings, mayo etc. on salads. Just hate when my veggies get goo on them.

Funnily, I cope with yoghurt etc. just fine - so it's not the texture per se, just when used to coat vegetables.

I thought I was weird for hating coconut as much as I do, glad to see there are others!!! And to think this is a g-rated thread!
