It could be that you haven't found the right fiber source for you. This is especially likely if your gas is particularly foul-smelling.

For me, I try to stay away from "added fiber" such as inulin (the main ingredient in Benefiber). But fiber in fruits and vegetables doesn't cause the same problems. Neither does polydextrose.

So, yes, you could just be eating something that your body doesn't like.

I'd check the ingredients. There could be something in there that your body just doesn't like.

A lot of packaged foods contain inulin. I get pretty farty when I eat that. So I avoid it.

I think that a lot of people assume that as long as it's fiber it's good for them. Our intestines can be pretty particular about fiber sources...

If fiber is giving you a lot of gas but not helping you to be more regular, you haven't found the right fiber for you.

When you increase your fibre suddenly, it can result in lots of yucky things from gas to constipation. The trick is to increase it slowly. I got that way with the fibre one cereal only it wasn't embarrassing gas it was the painful kind that feels like huge lumps moving through your intestines. I don't get that any more. go slowly, let your body adjust.
