I just started Jillian Michael's 30DS last week, and have found that I am hungry all the time! Is this normal? I previously completed Insanity, and worked out in other ways such as using the elliptical, a bit of P90X (although my dumbells weren't heavy enough so I stopped). I don't understand what's going on. I'm trying to drink more water to help but I have to eat more to get me through the day. Has anyone else gone through this?

It's normal. As you increase muscle mass, your metabolism increases, thus, your desire to eat more food.0

Yes, your body is telling you something.0

I have definitely noticed this myself. It is a very welcome response0

happens to me also, usually its a sign you will need to up your calorie intake to help support the changes going on in your body.0

Yep, that's totally normal. listen to your body.0

Very normal. I upped my strength training a few weeks ago and had an almost instantaneous increase in appetite. I am trying to remedy it by eating four small meals daily instead of three spread out.0

I make sure to have some sort of protein about an hour or so before training (usually greek yogurt). That helps me not be so hungry afterwards and blow my diet.0

Make sure you are getting enough protein...your body needs this to build the muscle that you are trying to make w/ the JM videos. It isn't necessarily that you are needing more calories, but maybe more of a specific item (but may need more calories as well)...if you don't eat enough, then your body will munch on your muscles for the energy to make it thru the workouts that are trying to build the muscle!
Good luck!0 -
Thanks everyone! I'll definitely up my protein and try to make some wise(er) choices!0
