I was reading an article about online privacy and found a neat link that lets you adjust your Google ad preferences. Lots of websites (including MFP) use Google ads and according to the link "you can edit the interests and inferred demographics that Google has associated with your cookie."

http://www.google.com/ads/preferences

Just thought I'd share, since every once in a while there is a thread about "Why am I getting an ad about ______ here?"

Or just use Firefox and get the Ad Block ad-on.

If you use Firefox, get an addon called Adblock Plus. It works incredibly well. In fact, I didn't even know MFP had ads until I visited here accidently with Internet Explorer.

It will even let you block certain images or portions of a web page from ever showing up again. Works great in forums where people put up stupid avatar pics or those annoying ticker things. I highly recommend it.
