AB workout with massive surgeries

To the trainers in here. I was involved in a head on car accident where a drunk drive hit me. I have this scar on my ABs area that starts in the middle of my breastplate and extends to just above my pelvic bone area. The area has been operated on several times in the last few years with mesh being inserted. The muscles were left open for about 16 months before being reattached.

Everytime I try to do AB workouts my back muscles take over. Situps, planks, crunches. I have this fat deposit that I would like to remove and I know that I need to build these muscle back up to get the layer of fat removed. I know that I can do loads of Cardio, but I know that is not going to help fully. Any suggestions for someone that has a major handycap.
