Where do I even begin? Today is my 80th day on MFP. My sister invited me here for several months before I finally checked out what this site entailed. On that day I weighed 231.4 pounds and wore a size 22 or a 2-3X. I had a tumor removed in April of this year and spent 5 hours in recovery instead of the 1 they said due to not being able to regulate my blood oxygen and heart rates. The doctor looked me straight in the eye and said "It's because of your weight". I knew I should probably do something but kept putting it off. Then I got the invitation. I am not sure what clicked that day in July, But am grateful that I have now determined that this is my time. Time for me.

So I set out on a course of trying to figure out how to get in shape. I have read countless threads on here about what to do and what not to do. I have taken what I could use from here and applied it to my life. I started out in the summer treading water at the pool (dang I wish it was still open) and counting calories. I have found myself to be obsessed with logging everything I eat and do. And dang. It actually works!

Some of the silly little things that I have celebrated over the past 80 days are being able to take a bubble bath without my hips rubbing the sides of the tub! I dropped from a size 22 down to a 16. I even cried in the store when they fit! I have lost 23.75 inches off of my body! I dumped an ex that kept stringing me along and toying with my emotions. I made so many valuable friends on here. People whom I have never met that are always there to offer an encouraging word or pick up me or kick my *kitten* when I need it.

Then about 3 weeks ago I was standing right at the gates to onederland and the scale stopped moving. GRRRR!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I weigh 201 and you pick NOW to plateau? I was crushed but I kept on moving. I completed a 2 mile family fun run/walk with my 10 year old son, I continued to do yoga daily and jump on the bike and ride...on Sunday evenings I go for a walk with my 10 year old son and it's become our time. yet the scale wouldn't move.

Dang it! I told myself that when I got to 200 pounds my reward would be letting myself start c25k! I want to be a runner! So I used the program as a reward for proving to myself that I was serious! AND THE SCALE WON'T MOVE!

I registered for a 5K race (it's tonight!!!!) Yesterday my dad and I went down to pick up my packet and were going to walk the course. When we got down there we started jogging. Next thing I know we are back to where we started! AND I RAN THE ENTIRE THING!!!! ME!!! I ran the whole thing! It wasn't pretty and graceful or fast but I did it! I came home elated and a bit upset with myself for jumping the gun on my reward!!!

Then I stood in front of the scale. I looked down at it and said "OPEN THE DAMN GATE TO ONEDERLAND!" I stepped on the scale prepared to see 201.0 once again. I stepped off the scale. Then back on the scale. I ran into my bedroom and grabbed the camera.

199.0.

I ran to the computer and "checked in" then sat down on the edge of the bed and cried. I texted the picture to the one person in this journey who has been an absolute rock to me. Kandrews. On the days that are the hardest, she is there to support me. In every single minor victory, she has her pompoms out! When she sees something that I am struggling on, she is there to show me a different way to attack. I would truly be lost without her. She is my rock star! xoxo Kathryn!
