My name is Cyndi. I have a lot of health issues and am extremely overweight. I am trying to see how many of my health issues can be resolved with losing the weight that I have accumulated over the years. Does anyone have any ideas to help me keep motivated other than the obvious- to become healthy?

Welcome to the boards! Motivation needs to come from within. People can give you all the advice in the world, but you have to be your biggest cheerleader. Good luck!:flowerforyou:0

Welcome! I have health issues too, just start off small and work up to more. Start slow and you will see that your endurance will build. Depending on your health problems....be sure to make sure your doctor oks what you intend to do. Walking is a great start. I started a walking club, we walk Mondays and Wednesdays. Having someone else walk with me makes me more determined cause we depend on each other to get ourselves out there and moving. I also bring my dog (Cloe) she loves to walk. Good luck!:flowerforyou:0

Hi Cyndi!!! Welcome!! This website is awesome and the help and support from everyone on this site is extremely motivational.
You can do whatever you set your mind too. If you want to accomplish something, I know you have the power to do it!!! Just take slow steps and don't be too hard on yourself. If you get discouraged or have a bad day, don't give up!!!!!! Take it one day at a time!!
You can do this!! It will be challenging but the end result of better health and a longer life is so worth it!!! Good luck!!!0 -
Hi, welcome to MFP, I just wanted to wish you good luck on your weight loss journey, you can do this. My advise to you is drink, drink, drink water, that is all I drink all day long, I don't want to drink my calories when I can be eating food.0
