I just saw and posted this too, I think it would make him understand more of what his clients who are trying to get fit are going through.0

I think it's dumb...the idea behind it is admirable, but I think 70 pounds is a little too extreme...like someone else posted, that loose skin is gonna be a pain to lose.0

iv'e heard of actors doing this before to get a part ... Robert Dinero for Raging Bull... Ryan Gosling for the bad guy part in Lovely bones .. and both of them bounced back to their normal weight.. ... But this guy had an incredible body so to sacrafice it for six month must have been scary ... I dont know .. if i was that fit i dont think i could let myself go on purpose.. I guess he has alot to gain from doing this...Id like to watch how he gets back into shape.0

I'm not sure if he's doing this to show food addiction or how easy losing weight can be? He has WAAAYYY more advantage than most other people losing weight:
He was very muscled before he gained. Losing the weight and regaining the muscle will be a cake walk compared to a guy of the same size who's never been thin and muscled before. It takes a much, much long time to build up the muscle the first time around than the 2nd. This is why body builder types can really let themselves go for 3-4 months and then lose 45 lbs in 12 weeks.
Really this reminds me of like Tyra Banks living as a vagrant for 4 hours, or that book "Nickle and Dimed". The idea of a very well off person trying to live at the other end of the spectrum. Tyra Banks got more money than the woman next to her because she was more attractive to start off with. IF you live homeless for a few years, you won't look so great. But more attractive and taller people naturally earn more money, it's a fact, whether people consciously realize it or no. I can't afford to eat burger king every day and live in a hotel like the author of Nickel and Dimed, you live in a hole in the wall and eat ramen and cabbage every day. I would also love to make $30,000 (what her pay was as a maid for more wealthy people; granted, it was in a bull economy when she wrote the book). Really my point is that people who have advantages trying to be in the shoes at the other end of the spectrum actually don't know how it is and are set up with greater advantages.0 -
I think it's brilliant, though risky. Hopefully he will remember what he's learned and have compassion for the overweight people he's working with, and also document the solutions to issues he encounters. He will emerge from this a wiser man.0

I think it's pointless and stupid. He won't really know what it's like for someone to be overweight because he hasn't really lived it the way most people would have. Sure, he notices that some things he could do easily are harder, but there are a lot more emotional issues when you've been overweight for years. He'll also have a much easier time losing the weight than most people would. So he's just putting stress on his body and possibly hurting his health for no reason.0

It reminds me of the movie Super Size Me (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390521/ )
This healthy guy lives off of eating McDonalds 24/7 for 30 days to prove the consequences of unhealthy eating.
Pretty good documentary.
I say if it changes just one person's life, then it's a positive I would support.0
