Ok, so since I gained 20 pounds more then my heaviest weight 245 now. I started noticing ALOT of pain in my left foot, which then turned into a lump on my Aquiles Tendon, and now it feels strained....it hurts after a workout of any type, and hurts no matter what shoes I wear. There is also a noticable lump on the tendon all the time.....has anyone else had this issue? I don't have insurance right now, so jumping from Dr. to Dr, at the moment seems impossible. I want to be able to workout, but everytime I do I am in agonizing pain it seems for days.....even walking hurts can't even wear my tennis shoes anymore........its troubling, I used to be a dancer and now I can't even walk......ARGH....suggestions anyone? :ohwell:

Sorry, the only advice I can give is go to the Dr. That sounds pretty serious. :huh:0

Definitely go to the doctor. Many places have free clinics or lower-cost clinics! Google your area and I'm sure you will find something nearby! Theres no sense in hurting!

Ouch!!! And in the rain too...
Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. These all help in these type of injuries. Please review the attached web link as it also has some thoughts on over the counter meds.

Be very careful on this one as a lump on an Achilles Tendon makes it difficult to stabilize when standing.
I'd really like you to review the following on this subject:

Do take care to take time on this one. There are a number of on the ground pilates, aerobics, and yoga exercises you can look on the web that are great for keeping healthy. Water exercises are also an option.
Hope this helps... and much success to your recovery :happy:0 -

Coach, thanks for the info, I will look into all of this. This actually has been going on for about 6 months now, it gets better and then 1 day with the wrong shoe, or 1 day of walking, or 1 day of workout and I am in pain again.....I have gone to wearing no shoes if I can....I think this may be part of the issue itself, I have always been a "high heel" girl until the weight made wearing them tougher on my knees and ankles, since then OUCH. In addition I have a twisted pelvis injury since a teenager that has caused the hamstring on that side to grow shorter then the other, so mandatory stretching is in order always. I will see what I can do to excercise without the jolt to the legs........
Thanks all of you for the input....

I have dealt w/ achilles tendonitis on & off for the last 3 yrs. I went in for some Physical Therapy after having a similar pain to what you were describing. I had a very tight knot in my calf and it was really hurting to run or even go up & down the stairs. The PT gave me a couple stretches and the one that helped me the most was to stand on a set of stairs and let my *bad* heel dip off the stairs. I would let it stretch for a few seconds, and then use my *good* leg to pull it back up. The PT didn't want me doing any sort of calf raises, so using the good leg helped to get back to neutral. Then repeat. I did about 10 reps, then rested about 30 seconds and did another 10. Start off VERY slowly stretching.
Ice, Advil or Aleve, and resting it helps too. I was able to use the elliptical but I could not run or do any sort of jumping. Hope you feel better soon!
