I am 4 months pregnant and I've already gained 20 lbs --This has got to stop! I am not looking to diet, but i must stop eating everything i get a craving for and actually exercise. Also, I want to lose the weight quick. I am getting married in July and I want to beck back into my wardrobe and look great in that honeymoon swimsuit! Let's encourage each other.

I have a 4 month old. I lost 90 lbs before I got pregnant. I only gained 37 while pregnant. I worked out until I was 37 weeks pregnant and had the baby at 37 weeks gestation. I've lost all of my pregnancy weight and nothing fits yet. Close, but not quite.0

the weight gain is just something that happens. i gained 60 lbs with my baby, even with exercise and eating right. i only gave into my chocolate milkshake once a week. But, even with the weight gain, it meant she came out perfect, oh well. shes 15 months and i've lost 50 of the 60. i was told that the 60 was normal for most new moms. i hated it, i admit that. going to the store and seeing the skinny prego girls there, but its just what happens. best you can do is just do some low impact arobics, like squats, espically if your going to go natural birth.0

Look I am going to get bashed for this. I have three children and lost weight with both because I was so sick at the time BUT I craved cheeseburgers with my twins and I thought "why not" and ate too many to count after I had them I was standing in front of the mirror and actually able to turn around and saw that for the first time in my life I had cellulite!
While you shouldn't diet in pregnancy there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating healthy and not giving in to bad cravings!
As for exercise go for low impact you can try swimming ect, light walking, yoga for pregnancy. The worst thing you can do is nothing0 -
I have a 17 month old but I would seriously advise you to talk to your doctor about your diet, what exercise you can do and how to gain in a healthy way.
I don't want you to get your hopes up that you will lose the weight quickly. if you plan to breastfeed you can't cut calories much and your body will have just been through a traumatic event (childbirth). Don't worry about the weight gain/loss....you will want to focus on being healthy and strong enough to care for your little one.
It's going to take 9 months to put on the weight and it could take that much time or longer to lose it!!! Just focus on healthy choices and don't give in to cravings. Maybe plan your meals at the beginning of the day and only eat what you plan. Not easy but can be done!!!0 -
Stick to eating healthy momma! There are some awesome books on staying healthy while pregnant as well as internet resources- I think there is also a topic on here. I gained over 100lbs in this pregnancy and while my son is beautiful and healthy- I'm pretty sure he would've been with an only 30lb gain!0

100% correct and with my 3rd baby, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and HAD to lose weight. If you are already overweight to begin with, it is also perfectly safe for you to continue to lose so long as you are not cutting your calories too much and you're not trying to shed like 50 lbs while you're pregnant.0 -
I'm so frustrated too. I am 21 weeks right now and have gained 24lbs so far and that's with using MFP religiously and I am swimming now 1-2 days a week. I know my doctor is going to flip when I see him in a couple of weeks. I wish I could slow down the weight gain, and stay healthy for this baby and me. If you find anything that works, please share.
Good luck and congrats with the pregnancy!0
