I know there's plenty of healthy shakes out there that taste good- but tonight I wanted to make something that really tasted decadent without the guilt. I have the world's worst sweet tooth and found this to be satisfying by using a variety of flavors and textures, plus contains several grams of protein.
This recipe makes 2 servings, approximately 6 oz each and 175-180 cals without whipped cream, but I added 2 TBS light whipped cream for an extra 15 cals
1/2 Cup fat free frozen yogurt (I used Trader Joe's plain, but I'm sure vanilla would be good)
1 frozen banana
1/4 Cup sugar free maple syrup
1/3 Cup skim milk
1/8 cup salted roasted pecans (loooove the slight saltines to this shake)
Use blender to combine, adding pecans when everything else is pretty much blended together. Top with whipped cream if you want and enjoy!
*also, the calories can definitely be reduced by omitting pecans but they are just SO good, I couldn't! However, a healthy alternative salty goodness would be topping the shake with broken up pretzels.
