I'm New To This

Hi Everyone!! This site is new to me and I'm hoping to get the tools and support I need to succeed in my weight loss efforts. Last year I lost 20 pounds with Weight Watchers but I soon became discourgaged because the weight wasn't coming off fast enough. Needless to say, I gained it all back and then some. My goal is to lose about 45 pounds before summer. I'm currently not working and you would think that since I'm home all day I would be exercising all the time. I tried that for a few days and got upset because I realized just how out of shape I am. I'm going to try to stick to it again. Any advice or inspiration that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck to everyone!

Welcome aboard.
I suppose the only thing I can suggest is that you don't look at this site as a diet but as a life style change that, as like in weight watchers, is really all up to you and your ability to master your eating habits and resist your mental struggles to do otherwise.
The weight didn't jump on you over night so I also would suggest that you set yourself some realistic goals to shoot for and mentally prepare yourself for the long haul. It took me about a year to drop the weight I have and I still have about 25 more to go so, like you, I'm looking to meet my goal by the spring.
Set yourself up with a three week plan for both exercise and eating using MFP. Go slowly at the exercise and stock your shelves at home with healthier foods --- this may not be a cheap thing to do depending how you were eating before. At the end of the three weeks reevaluate your plan and adjust it again for another three weeks and so on.
Gradually increase the tempo of your work outs at the start of the new week -- do start off slowly in the beginning so that you don't do any damage to your muscles and then have to quit and get depressed about it.

Thank you for your kind and inspiring words. Congrats to you on your weight loss acheivements. It sounds like a good plan to take it 3 weeks at a time and see how that goes. Thank you again and good luck to you.0

Hi and welcome! I work from home so I know the idea sounds great that I should have the time and energy to eat properly and exercise right, but frankly I am less active all the way around and become bored at times, thus I start to graze. So, I've used this site for the last week to combat my boredom and it's been working, can't wait for my first weigh in! good luck!0

Hi porka29 - I'm glad someone feels the same way I do. It seems it should be so easy to get fit but it's not! Good luck with your first weigh-in and let me know how you did.0
