hey there guys, haven't seen you all in a while! I have a quick question....

back in 2006 when i first started my weight loss program, i weighed in at 230 and didn't have much energy so i tried SlimQuick for the first two months to boost my energy and it was great!:flowerforyou:

i stopped taking any supplements or vitamins after that and still had great success. i started living organically and pretty much refused taking any supplements by the end of my weight loss...at the beginning of 2008 i weighed in at 150, then became very ill...since then, i've put on 20 pounds because i stopped working out, and now i'm ready to start full force, but my energy is pretty darned low...:brokenheart:

i'm past having to take something organic or herbal to boost my energy, even though i drink lots of organic green tea throughout my day...honestly, it still doesn't really help!
does anyone have any suggestions, especially the gals out there, about any weight loss boosters that i can take for a couple of months to get me back into the game?

everyone feel free to contribute! thanks a "ton"! lol:laugh:

I personally don't believe in supplements. With few exceptions doctors say that you do better eating your vitamins rather than taking them from a commercial producer so that's what I do with my daily diet.

Teas and other drinks are diuretics and as such they don't really count for water consumption and in some cases slow down your ability to process foods and water through your system so I limit my intake to two cups of coffee.

I did find that when I started to lose the weight I started to gain more energy, flexibility and stamina and that may be all you're going to have to do. However, if after a few weeks of losing some weight and exercising you still feel exhausted I would suggest seeing your doctor because you might have other health issues, like sleep apnea, that might be affecting you.

    welcome back!
  • That's awesome that your down to 150 or even 170 right now but the fact that you got down to 150 from 230 is AWESOME! I use to be 150 and now weight 212! Sucks! I gained the weight over the course of two pregnacies and just haven't gotten it off. I am working to do that now but it almost seems impossible to get down to 150 again! LOL! I know it's not though! It's just really hard! Plus I want it like now!

I am just trying to take it one day at a time and week by week! Hopefully I will get back there. I know that use to complain that I was fat at 150 and now I would give anythign to be back at that! :) I guess life is funny that way. Well I don't have any answer for you on the supplements but I was interested to see if anyone recommeneded them. The other day I took one of those vitamin supplement energy shots and it seeme to help but that was the first time I had EVER taken one. I didnt' really like the idea of drinking one but figured I would try it. I swam about 15 laps almost a half mile at the gym and still had energy afterwards so I think it helped me. Anyhow I am not saying I would recommend that but you could try it and see if you get some energy and then maybe after you get into a routine and start loosing you will build that back up on your own.

    Well eithier way good luck!

I really don't think there's anything out there that will help more than plenty of healthy fuel (food). Start out small- go for a walk, a swim... do some yoga, play some one-one one b-ball in the driveway with a friend. I think it's all in your head that you need something extra. I personally see it as a waste of money.

hey guys, thanks so far for the comments/suggestions, i'm surprised there aren't more though? it's funny how you go from one website at beachbody and hear so many people suggesting supplements out the booty, and here everyone says nothing is best...

been to the doc, did several tests and we didn't find anything! she suggested i drink one or two cups of coffee a day and exercise (i do walk or run, depending on how i feel, three miles a day already though i didn't mention that earlier, and my caloric intake is up to par...but it's not really the heartpumping weightlifting exercise used to do, so i didn't think to mention it...)

anyhow, like i said, i appreciate the suggestions, but does everything always have to be chaulked up to "it's probably in your head, just exercise and you'll feel better"? not trying to be rude...

anyone, feel free to suggest any energy supplements or such, i'm sure others want to know too!
