i really would like some chips, i have some in the freezer McCain french fries, 220 roughly calories for 100 grams , which isn't to bad. but wanted to know is best to dhow to do my own without them tasting plain. any ideas?

    i would definitely bake them (not fry)...maybe season with some garlic?
  • I make my own with sweet potatoes. 100g (which is a little bigger than half a sweet potato) in conjunction with 0 calorie cooking spray, cumin, garlic pepper (w/o salt), paprika, and a tiny bit of garlic salt is roughly 90-100 calories, and FLIPPING FANTASTIC!

    Just bake on 350 for a while until crispy...or you can broil them for the last 10 or so minutes!

    Sprinkle spices over them. Any you like...garlic powder, paprika, curry or cumin whatever you like. Experiment with flavors.
    Also malt vinegar is good.

    This. I like Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning blend, too.

    And, fwiw, when my wife and I cook any of the frozen french fries we usually bake them per the package instructions, but switch over to the broiler for the last minute or two to crisp them up, which never seems to happen in a timely manner in a 425° oven. Much better that way.
