Hey friends,
Okay so i really wanna start running. I just don't know how? I see people out running all the time and i want to join them but I just can't wait outside my house and join as they com along. Or can i? LOL. I'm still new to the state of Maryland and i so need a workout buddy. I've been to all the friend site and either couldn't find one or they really wanted sex. My gym has an indoor track. I'm thinking i'll start thier first. Any tips? Anyone here in the North Bethesda area or Montgomery Co. area of MD?

I would check out your local running store. They often have weekly running groups. Some groups of employees also create running groups. Also, ask at your gym. I know that my gym has a tri club, running club, etc. They are free to anyone who wants to join. Good luck!0

Ditto what iuangina said. Also, check websites of any big running events (5ks, 10ks, marathons or halfs) to see if they've got running groups to recommend. One of our local events which involves 3 5ks over the summer to raise money for YMCA/YWCA puts together a couple groups for beginner runners every year.
I get that you want to do this partially to socailize but as far as learning to run, check out the Couch to 5k program - it's a great way to get into it!0 -
I would check into a program call c25k, if you have a smart phone it might be an app. It's a program that helps beginning runs with being able to build up endurance.
Best wishes!!!0 -

Go to the local park or somewhere that you see people running. You would be surprised at how friendly and encouraging people will be to new runners. Also if you have a running store near you they usually have tons of information about running group or they may even have their own. Best of luck!0
