I've noticed this quite a bit, at least at the university where I am doing my grad studies.

I can see this. There have been a few occasions where I chose to "drink my dinner" rather than eating it.
I say in moderation, as anything, it shouldn't be a big deal. I may do this once every 3 months or so.0 -
I helped my best friend at uni out of "drunkorexia" then. She was surviving on coffee and whiskey... and liberal quantities of both.0

I saw that article elsewhere yesterday and have noticed it quite a bit too. I wouldn't say that it's much of an issue to cut a bit of food if you're drinking and trying to lose weight - unless you go out drinking alot in which case I wouldn't recommend.
I would be careful though that you're still getting enough nutrients for the day (not cutting too much out - maybe just snacks) and that you still eat a healthy meal some time before so that you don't end up on the floor because you went drinking on an empty stomach.0 -
I accidentally did this in college (and sometimes still). I was QUEEN of happy hour after class. However, happy hour turned into dinner drinks. Next thing you knew, the bar was closing. I never stopped eating dinner because I wanted to get drunk faster. I would get too drunk to remember I never had dinner...Not my proudest moments, I can assure you.0

I know someone who thinks beer is a food group and a healthy dinner. She also thinks it's a suitable substitute for water. Addicts will ALWAYS justify their behavior.
There are no short cuts and there is no substitute for healthy eating and if you DON'T hydrate, you WILL DIE - and it will NOT be a quick painless death0 -
I know a girl who started to look amazing and now sitting back even her mum writes on her status's about drinking and her photo's where she is skin and bone saying "Look how fat I am" everyone is telling her she needs to put on that she looks like a bobble head *I so hope aussies arent the only ones who call them bobble heads*0
